Elite Race

Each year Eureka Climb offers a limited number of places to Elite Athletes to enter the first wave time of the day (6:45am) to race to the level 88 and take out the Elite Race challenge.  The fastest male and female of this wave time will walk away with the Eureka Climb Elite Race prize.

What can you win?

First prize to fastest male and female in the Elite category will be a return trip to the WFGT Towerrunning Challenge 2014 which will take place on January 24, 2015 at Vienna's Danube Tower. More information on this to come.

What is the WFGT Towerrunning Challenge?

Eureka Climb is part of the World Federation of Great Towers (WFGT) Tower Running Challenge which involves a series of tower races around the globe where participants are awarded points based on their placings at each event.  The person (male and female) with the highest amount of points at the end of the season is crowned the World Cup Champion.

For more information on the WFGT Tower Running Challenge 2014, you can download the official press release here.

What is an Elite Athlete?

If you think you can climb 88 floors in sub 11 minutes (men) and sub 14 minutes (women) and you have an impressive Sporting CV you may qualify for our Elite Race.  Our current records are as follows:

Male - 7min 34sec (Mark Bourne - 2013)
Female - 9min 33sec (Alice McNamara 2011)

Applying for the Elite Race does NOT guarantee you entry into the race nor register you as a competitor for the Eureka Climb.  If you are successfully chosen to compete in the event you will be notified by email and supplied with a unique promo code to complete your on-line entry.

Cost to participate in the Elite Race is the same as an individual entry ($60), however you will not be required to raise a minimum pledge.  Once registered you will be allocated a set wave time of 6:45am on event day and will be required to collect your race kit from the Registration Tent between 6:00 – 6:30am.  Should you wish or you have already entered as a normal climber and would still like to apply, this is perfectly acceptable. If your application is successful you will be notified and Eureka Climb will simply switch your wave time over to the Elite wave time of 6:45am.
