Why do I have to fundraise?

Our primary aim through running this event is to raise funds for our two amazing Charity Partners, Interplast and Whitelion, and as such we do require all participants to fundraise this minimum pledge of $35 – 100% of which goes directly to the charities (minus credit card fees of around 2-3%) so they can continue to do the inspiring work that they do. It is split 50/50 between Interplast and Whitelion.

What happens if I do not reach my minimum pledge amount (individual and/or team)?

When signing up to participate in Eureka Climb all participants accept the terms and conditions of the event which include making a pledge to fundraise a minimum of $35 for Interplast and Whitelion. Upon reaching your minimum fundraising pledge your entry is guaranteed in your preferred wave time, and you will be able to collect your race kit including timing chip and show bag on the morning of the climb. If you have not reached your minimum fundraising pledge at the time of marshalling for your preferred wave time, your position can be replaced by a participant that has reached their minimum fundraising pledge.

How long do I have to complete my fundraising?

There will be an allocated bag compound, you will just need to tear off the perforated tab from your race bib and attach it to your belongings. In order to collect your bag you must then show the event staff your race bib number.

What is the general layout of the stairs?

It is between 18-22 steps per floor followed by a landing then 180 degrees.  You’ll be ascending clockwise and there is a railing for assistance. Some of our faster climbers have said that the railing comes into play at about the 50th floor to assist in pulling yourself upwards.

Simply click on the link within this email and follow the steps to complete your registration and confirm your place in the team. Once registered, you will receive a confirmation email with your fundraising page login details for the Eureka Climb website.   Can’t find the email or didn’t receive one? If you can’t find the email or you didn’t receive one you can either ask your team captain to Login and resend it to you via the Edit my profile function (if you didn’t receive one ask them to check the spelling of your email), or click here and select Join Existing Team as your Participation Type which will give you the option to search for your team name. Then simply follow the steps to complete your registration and confirm your place in the team. Does my registration fee include the minimum fundraising pledge?

No, there are two separate elements – the registration fee which covers all of the costs involved with putting on the event, including timing (for climbers) and show bag; and the minimum fundraising pledge of $35 per participant. The minimum fundraising pledge is generally made up of donations made by participants’ family, friends and colleagues, although some do choose to pay this amount themselves.

What should I eat on the morning of the race?

Make sure you eat a low-fat breakfast (or snack 3 hours before) that will be digested properly and provide your body with the protein your muscles need to get you through the challenge.  A good source of protein is eggs, so why not scramble eggs on toast with a glass of orange juice for extra energy. Eat a banana at least 1 hour before the race.  This will give you the extra energy you need to get you through the climbing challenge.
